Persija Jakarta announced on April 23rd the appointment of Thomas Doll, the esteemed former coach of Borussia Dortmund, as their new head coach. Hailing from Malchin, Germany, Doll brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the position, and will lead the Kemayoran Tigers for the next three years.

Thomas Doll boasts an impressive football career, having played for esteemed clubs such as Hansa Rostock, BFC Dynamo, Hamburger SV, Lazio, Eintracht Frankfurt, and AS Bari. As a coach, he has managed teams like Hamburgers SV, Genclerbirligi, Al-Hilal, Ferencvaros, Hanover 96, and APOEL Nicosia, garnering extensive experience and knowledge.
His tenure with Ferencvaros yielded remarkable achievements, including three Hungarian Cup Winner titles, two Hungarian Champion trophies, and one Hungarian League Cup victory, reflecting his prowess in coaching.
Prior to Thomas Doll’s appointment, Persija had been diligently assembling their player roster, securing the talents of Firza Andika, Hanif Sjahbandi, and Hansamu Yama Pranata as new additions to the team. Additionally, existing players such as Maman Abdurahman, Tony Sucipto, and Osvaldo Haay have agreed to extend their contracts, demonstrating a strong commitment to the club’s future endeavors.
