Persija Jakarta Takes Swift Action Following FIFA Sanctions

Indonesian football club Persija Jakarta has encountered a setback with FIFA imposing a registration ban. The club, known as the Kemayoran Tigers, promptly addressed the issue and expressed their determination to resolve the sanctions at the earliest opportunity.

FIFA’s decision to impose registration bans on Persija Jakarta and four other Indonesian clubs – Persiraja Banda Aceh, Persikab Bandung Regency, Sada North Sumatra FC, and Persiwa Wamena – came as a surprise. The specific reasons for the sanctions were not disclosed, but it is believed that they stem from violations of transfer regulations or unpaid transfer debts to other clubs.

The registration ban prevents the clubs from registering any new players acquired in the transfer market with the local federation, effectively impeding their ability to field their new recruits.

In response to the sanctions, Persija Jakarta issued an official statement expressing their intention to promptly address the matter. The club’s President Director, Ambono Janurianto, assured that they would take prompt action to rectify the situation.

“We have not remained passive in light of FIFA’s sanctions, which include a ban on recruiting players for up to three transfer periods. We will take immediate steps to resolve the issue,” stated Persija’s official announcement.

Ambono Janurianto further elaborated that the club had outstanding obligations related to player signings at the beginning of the 2023/2024 Liga 1 season. He affirmed that efforts were underway to settle these obligations with the relevant parties.

“We are committed to settling our dues with the concerned clubs before the transfer market reopens,” he emphasized.

Persija Jakarta remains hopeful that FIFA will lift the sanctions once all the outstanding obligations are fulfilled. The club is eager to reach an agreement with the relevant parties to swiftly resolve the issue and regain their full rights within the football community.
