In an effort to invigorate the sports scene, Persija Jakarta and PSIS Semarang are preparing to compete in the upcoming Premium Sports tournament alongside two Malaysian teams, Selangor FC and Sabah FC. The tournament is scheduled to take place at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) on May 30 and June 2, 2024, and is anticipated to showcase a captivating exhibition of football expertise.
With a total prize pool of $50,000, this event is part of RCTI’s dedication to supporting government initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of sports in society and advancing sports achievements, particularly in international football. “The competition among the four leading teams will undoubtedly present thrilling matches that will captivate all football enthusiasts, especially the people of Indonesia,” stated Dini Putri, the Programming and Acquisition Director of RCTI.
The opening match is set for May 30, 2024, at 5:00 PM WIB, followed by the second match at 7:30 PM WIB. The tournament will be broadcasted live on RCTI, MNC Vision, K-Vision, and Vision+. The excitement will culminate on June 2, 2024, with the third-place match leading up to the final match.
The victors of the tournament will not only claim $30,000 but will also be honored with the prestigious Rajawali Cup for the team and medals for each player. The runner-up team will receive $15,000 along with player medals, while the teams finishing in third and fourth place will receive $10,000 and $5,000, respectively. Additionally, various awards such as the Man of the Match, MVP of the Tournament, Goal of the Tournament, and Fair Play Award will be acknowledged with plaques.
The tournament will employ a semi-final format, with the winners of the initial matches advancing to the finals, and the defeated teams vying for the third-place position. Each match will consist of two 45-minute halves, with unlimited player substitutions. In the event of a tie at the end of normal time, the match will proceed to a penalty shootout.
For spectators eager to witness the action live at the JIS stadium, ticket bookings will be available through Loket.com. The stadium has a capacity of up to 82,000 spectators, and tickets can be purchased starting on Saturday, May 11, 2024. There are four categories available for ticket purchases: VIP, Category 1, Category 2, and Category 3.
