Celebrating Excellence: PSM Dominates Liga 1 Awards, Young Player Shines from Persija

The conclusion of the 2022-2023 season of Liga 1, the top-tier Indonesian football competition, took place on the evening of Sunday, April 16, 2023. The final match between PSM Makassar and Borneo FC at Gelora BJ Habibie Stadium in Parepare, South Sulawesi, marked the end of the season, with PSM Makassar emerging as the champions with a 3-0 victory.

The club, known as Juku Eja, celebrated their championship title following the final match against Borneo FC.

During the same event, PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), as the competition operator, announced the recipients of awards for the 2022-2023 season. The awards included categories such as the best player, best referee, best young player, best coach, and top scorer.

According to reports from BolaSport.com, the best player award was bestowed upon PSM Makassar’s midfielder, Wiljan Pluim, surpassing other nominees such as Stefano Lilipaly (Borneo FC), Marc Klok (Persib Bandung), and Ondrej Kudela (Persija).

The award for the best young player was presented to Ilham Rio Fahmi of Persija Jakarta, who was nominated alongside Ananda Raehan (PSM Makassar), Fajar Fathurrahman (Borneo FC), and Beckham Putra (Persib).

Furthermore, the award for the best coach was granted to PSM Makassar’s tactician, Bernardo Tavares, who prevailed over nominees such as Luis Milla (Persib), Aji Santoso (Persebaya), and Thomas Doll (Persija).

Additionally, PT LIB also recognized the top scorer of the season, Matheus Pato from Borneo FC, who also received the award for the best goal due to his performance in the match against Bali United. (Metta Rahma Melati)
