NTT has recently initiated the construction of its third data center in Jakarta, Indonesia, as part of its ongoing investment in the region. The upcoming Jakarta 2 Annex Data Center (JKT2A) is anticipated to become fully operational by early 2026, in response to the increasing need for data infrastructure in the country.
The seven-story facility is poised to provide 12MW of power across 5,800 sqm of IT space, specifically designed to accommodate high-density racks of up to 40 kW. This expansion follows NTT’s existing JKT2, which offers 9.4MW across 5,400 sqm and has the capacity for 2,800 racks spread across eight stories. NTT acquired the JKT2 data center in 2015 through the acquisition of Cyber CSF.
In addition to these ongoing initiatives, NTT introduced the JKT3 campus in the Bekasi area in April 2022. This four-story building offers an extensive 18,000 sqm of IT space and an impressive 15.2 MW capacity, with plans to increase to 45MW upon full completion. The company previously operated its Jakarta 1 facility in the Wisma 46 building, although this facility is no longer featured on the company’s official site.
Through these strategic developments, NTT is aiming to solidify its position as a leading provider of data center services, ensuring that businesses in Indonesia have access to reliable and resilient infrastructure to support their digital operations.
The expansion of NTT’s data center footprint in Jakarta reflects the robust growth of Indonesia’s digital economy and the escalating demand for data storage and processing capabilities. A report published by Statista revealed that Indonesia’s data center market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.8% from 2021 to 2026, highlighting the significance of NTT’s investment in the country.
As NTT continues to make substantial investments in the development of data center infrastructure in Indonesia, the company reinforces its commitment to enabling digital transformation and innovation in the region. The inauguration of the Jakarta 2 Annex Data Center represents a significant milestone for NTT, signifying the company’s efforts to enhance the digital infrastructure landscape in Indonesia.
In conclusion, NTT’s groundbreaking of the Jakarta 2 Annex Data Center and the launch of the JKT3 campus demonstrate the company’s dedication to strengthening its presence in Jakarta and meeting the burgeoning demand for data center services in the region. These developments align with NTT’s broader strategy of driving digital transformation and connectivity in Indonesia, ultimately contributing to the country’s evolving digital ecosystem.
