The Indonesian football community is eagerly anticipating the upcoming FIFA matchday as the national team undergoes rigorous training in preparation for their upcoming matches against Palestine and Argentina. However, the absence of two pivotal players from Persija Jakarta, Witan Sulaeman and Rizki Ridho, in the national team’s training camp has prompted their club’s coach, Thomas Doll, to provide an explanation.
In a recent statement, Thomas Doll disclosed that Witan and Ridho are currently engaged in a FIFA Matchday schedule and will only be available to join the national team’s training camp after their match against Argentina. Consequently, the decision was made to allow the players to continue training with others in Sawangan, focusing on tactical and physical training sessions. The coach emphasized the importance for Ridho to acclimate to his new environment, thus the decision for him to remain with the club.
Despite the absence of these players, Thomas Doll recognized the significance of the upcoming match against Argentina for the Indonesian national team, viewing it as a valuable experience for the players. As a result, he intends to release the players to join the national team as soon as they become available.
The training camp, currently being held in Surabaya, has already seen the arrival of players such as Elkan Baggott, who joined 15 other players in their training sessions. The roster also includes well-known names like Stefano Lilipaly, Marc Klok, and Edo Febriansyah, all contributing their expertise and experience to the national team.
As the national team prepares for their upcoming matches, there is palpable excitement among fans as they eagerly await the opportunity to witness their team in action. The first match against Palestine is scheduled to take place in Surabaya on June 14, followed by a highly-anticipated match against Argentina on June 19 in Jakarta.
These matches hold significant importance for Indonesian football, and the absence of Witan Sulaeman and Rizki Ridho from the national team’s training camp serves as a reminder of the various commitments and responsibilities that come with being professional footballers. As fans, we can only hope for their swift return to the national team, while also showing support for the other dedicated players who are currently training tirelessly to represent Indonesia on the world stage.
