The Persija Jakarta office received a notable gift on Monday, in the form of a flower bouquet from their steadfast supporters, The Jakmania. However, this seemingly benevolent gesture conveyed a subtle critique of the team’s performance in the current season of Liga 1 2021-2022.
Diky Budi Ramadhan, the general chairman of The Jakmania, elucidated that the flower bouquet was intended to express their disappointment and frustration with Persija’s lackluster performance on the field. In an interview with Antara, Diky emphasized the hope that the club’s management will take heed of their message and work towards enhancing the team’s performance in future matches.
The news of the wreath’s delivery was publicized through the official Instagram account of The Jakmania, which also highlighted the organization’s founding date and significance. The wreath itself was adorned with a pointed message “Congratulations on the first 3 points from 3 matches in Liga 1,” clearly indicating the dissatisfaction with Persija’s performance thus far.
Diky further emphasized the importance of conducting thorough evaluations across all facets of the club, encompassing management and the team itself, with the aim of reclaiming Persija’s former glory as the champions of the Indonesian League 1 in 2018 and reestablishing prominence in national football.
One of the principal suggestions put forth by The Jakmania is for Persija to critically reassess the decision to release several players and bring in only one new player as a replacement before the start of the 2021-2022 Liga 1 season. Additionally, they urged the club to integrate more academy players into the first team to bolster the squad.
The disappointing performance of Persija in the 2021-2022 Indonesian Liga 1 was underscored by their inability to secure a victory in the first three matches, all of which ended in draws. Their most recent match against Persipura on September 19 resulted in a scoreless draw, compounding the team’s struggles.
At present, Persija is positioned in the 10th position in the 2021-2022 Indonesian League 1 standings, with only three points to show for their efforts.
In conclusion, The Jakmania’s critique of Persija’s performance serves as a wake-up call for the team to reevaluate their strategies and effect the necessary improvements. The steadfast support from their loyal fan base underscores the anticipation for a stronger showing from Persija in the upcoming matches. It remains to be seen how the club will respond to this message and whether they can turn the tide in their favor.
