Persija Jakarta Releases 10 Players to U-19 National Team: Here’s the Plan

The management of Persija Jakarta has made the decision to release ten of their players to join the U-19 national team, although not all at once. This decision was reached in response to the Indonesian national team coach’s call-up of 36 U-19 players for a training camp in Jakarta, in preparation for the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers.

Vice President of Persija, Ganesha Putera, has mentioned that while some academy players can join the national team training camp immediately, the first team players will be released gradually. The club will be seeking waivers from the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to allow the first team players to remain with the club for a longer period to undergo necessary preparations with both the club and the national team.

Ganesha emphasized the importance of nurturing young players within the club’s training and competitive environment. The goal is to guarantee that when these players join the U-19 national team, they are fully prepared to make a significant contribution. The ten players called up to the U-19 national team include Agi Firmansyah, Achmad Maulana Syarif, Dia Syayid Alhawari, Rayhan Utina, Teuku Razza Fachrezi, Alfriyanto Nico Saputro, Cahya Supriadi, Frengky Deaner Missa, Ginanjar Wahyu, and Muhammad Ferarri.

Persija’s coach, Thomas Doll, expressed his pride in seeing ten of his players being selected for the national team, viewing it as a testament to the talent within the club and the effectiveness of the coaching program. Doll stated, “I think it’s good we sent a lot of representatives to the national team. That means we have a lot of talent at the club. We are very happy and we can see the development of young players.”

This decision reflects Persija’s commitment to nurturing young football talent and contributing to the national team’s success. The gradual release of the players is a strategic approach to ensure that they are fully prepared to represent the U-19 national team. It also underscores Persija’s role in developing the next generation of Indonesian footballers.

As the training camp progresses, the club will continue to collaborate with the national team to monitor the development of their players. The emphasis on deliberate and thorough preparations demonstrates the dedication of Persija Jakarta to the overall growth and success of Indonesian football.
