The management of Persija Jakarta has officially expressed its support for the ten players who have been called up to the U-19 national team. Nevertheless, the club has decided to release these players gradually, rather than all at once.
Recently, the head coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, announced the roster of 36 U-19 players who will participate in a training camp from August 25 to September 7 in Jakarta. This camp is in preparation for the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers scheduled to take place from September 14 to 18 in Surabaya.
Out of the 36 players selected by the South Korean coach, ten are from Persija Jakarta, including both academy-level and first team players.
Ganesha Putera, the Vice President of Persija, has stated that some of the academy players will be able to join the national team’s training camp immediately. However, for the first team players, the club will request waivers from PSSI as they may need to remain with the team for a longer period.
The decision to delay the release of the first team players is rooted in the club’s determination to ensure that the players have the opportunity to fulfill their club obligations and adequately prepare with the national team.
“We will continue to develop these players at the club during the prolonged training camp. Our coaching staff is dedicated to nurturing young talent. We aim for these players to compete at a high level so that they are fully prepared to contribute to the national team’s success,” stated Ganesha on the club’s official website.
The ten players from Persija Jakarta who have been called up to the U-19 national team are Agi Firmansyah, Achmad Maulana Syarif, Dia Syayid Alhawari, Rayhan Utina, and Teuku Razza Fachrezi from the academy, as well as Alfriyanto Nico Saputro, Cahya Supriadi, Frengky Deaner Missa, Ginanjar Wahyu, and Muhammad Ferarri from the first team.
Thomas Doll, the coach of Persija Jakarta, has expressed pride in the fact that ten of his players were chosen to represent the national team. He sees this as a testament to the talent within the club and the effectiveness of the coaching program.
“It’s a great achievement for us to have so many players called up to the national team. This indicates the depth of talent within our club. We are thrilled to see the progress of our young players,” commented Thomas Doll.
In conclusion, Persija Jakarta is eagerly looking forward to supporting their players as they represent the national team. The club’s commitment to the development of young talent and the collaboration with the national team demonstrates the strength of Indonesian football.
