Persija Jakarta has recently acquired Oliver Saludares Bias as their fifth foreign player. The 22-year-old Filipino national team player will join the team on a one-year loan from the FK Pribram club.
Head coach Thomas Doll expressed his enthusiasm for Bias’s arrival, highlighting the potential impact that he could bring to the team. Doll, a native of Germany, received positive feedback about Bias from individuals familiar with his previous stints. Bias brings a wealth of experience, having previously played for various clubs, including RB Leipzig’s youth team, Optik Rathenow, FC Nitra, Azkals Development Team, Chiangmai United, and FK Pribram. His impressive track record includes 83 appearances, seven goals, and 11 assists in junior and senior level competitions. Additionally, Bias has represented both the German and Philippine national teams in different age categories, showcasing his talent and versatility on the international stage.
With the addition of Bias, Persija now has a formidable lineup of foreign players, including Marko Simic, Ondrej Kudela, Ryo Matsumura, and Maciej Gajos. The team also has one foreign player from Southeast Asia. According to league regulations, Persija still has the option to recruit one more foreign player, and fans are eager to see how the team will continue to strengthen its roster.
