The recent decision by FIFA to impose registration bans on several Indonesian football clubs, including Persija Jakarta, has prompted the management of the Kemayoran Tigers to swiftly address the issue. The club has expressed its commitment to resolving the sanctions as quickly as possible.
In addition to Persija Jakarta, four other Indonesian clubs, namely Persiraja Banda Aceh, Persikab Bandung Regency, Sada North Sumatra FC, and Persiwa Wamena, were also handed registration bans by FIFA. The specific violations that led to these sanctions were not disclosed, but typically, such penalties are related to breaches of transfer regulations or unpaid transfer debts to other clubs.
The registration ban prevents the affected clubs from registering new players recruited during the transfer market, thereby hindering their ability to field these players in matches. However, it is possible for the sanctions to be revoked upon settlement of any outstanding debts.
In response to the FIFA sanctions, Persija Jakarta released an official statement announcing its prompt action to address the situation. The club emphasized its proactive approach in resolving the issue, stating that it “has not remained silent” and is committed to taking swift steps to rectify the matter.
Ambono Janurianto, the President Director of Persija, affirmed the club’s determination to swiftly navigate through the sanctions. He acknowledged the unresolved financial obligations associated with the signing of new players at the beginning of the 2023/2024 Liga 1 season and assured that measures are being taken to resolve these issues with the relevant parties.
“We will settle our obligations with the relevant clubs in the near future before the transfer market opens,” Ambono stated, underscoring Persija Jakarta’s dedication to fulfilling its responsibilities.
The club is optimistic that once it fulfills its obligations and reaches an agreement with the relevant parties, FIFA will lift the sanctions. By addressing the situation promptly and responsibly, Persija Jakarta aims to swiftly overcome the challenges presented by the FIFA sanctions and ensure its ability to register new players and compete in upcoming matches.
Persija Jakarta’s proactive response to the FIFA sanctions demonstrates the club’s commitment to adhering to regulations and upholding its responsibilities within the football community. Moving forward, the club’s efforts to swiftly resolve the issues at hand will be closely monitored as the football community awaits the outcome of this situation.
