Persija Jakarta’s New Addition: The Acquisition of Filipino National Team Player Oliver Bias

Persija Jakarta completed a significant roster adjustment by formally acquiring the services of Oliver Saludares Bias, a 22-year-old athlete from the Philippine national team, on the evening of Wednesday. Bias, who is under a one-year loan agreement from the FK Pribram club, was cordially received by coach Thomas Doll from Germany.

Coach Thomas expressed his confidence in Bias’s abilities, pointing to his prior stint with the RB Leipzig youth team as a factor for his positive outlook. According to Thomas, Oliver possesses the necessary speed and skill set to elevate the quality of the Kemayoran Tigers, rendering him a valuable asset to the team.

Oliver Bias brings with him an impressive track record, having competed for various clubs and national teams. With 83 appearances, seven goals, and 11 assists at both junior and senior levels, Bias has demonstrated himself to be a skilled and adaptable player. With the incorporation of Bias, Persija Jakarta now boasts a total of five foreign players, including Marko Simic, Ondrej Kudela, Ryo Matsumura, and Maciej Gajos, as well as one foreign player from Southeast Asia. The regulations stipulated by the league operator, PT LIB, also permit the potential addition of one more foreign player to the team.
